UPS Maintenance
Our planned UPS maintenance schedules can identify the early signs of component failure. They offer the flexibility to choose the level of service needed to ensure that risks and costs are minimised.
All our contracts provide regular maintenance visits and asset management plans so you can control your budgets by planning for lifecycle component replacements. You can also choose the level of emergency response time you need to suit your business requirements.
To maximise the reliability of your UPS, a service plan from The Power Manager UPS Ltd ensures all critical components are checked for degradation and potential failure. We ensure urgent repairs are highlighted to prevent system failure in the event of a power cut.

Battery Impedance Testing
Battery Impedance Testing highlights failed cells and helps to prevent battery failure by identifying early signs of weakness or deterioration within individual cells.
Impedance testing is non-intrusive. An AC current is applied to each battery through probes attached to the block terminals, with the internal impedance measured and recorded in milliohms. This broadly indicates the general condition of the batteries without placing any undue stress on their functionality.
Battery Replacement Services
Batteries are a critical element of the UPS system. Regular assessment of UPS battery health is essential for identifying when a replacement or upgrade is necessary. Factors such as age, usage patterns, environmental conditions and maintenances influence a battery lifespan.
Once the battery is nearing the end of the design life the battery manufactures recommended a replacement to avoid loss in the event of a mains failure.
Battery replacements can be extremely costly, replacing your current batteries like for like isn’t always the best solution.
We only supply batteries with a 10-year design life. (other options are available on request)
Load Bank Testing
Load Bank Testing is a way of providing confidence that your critical power system will, in the event of a mains failure perform at the correct operational level under controlled conditions.
It tests the UPS and generator under simulated load conditions during the commissioning stage or during preventative maintenance. Load Bank testing can also be used to ascertain the condition of UPS batteries to indicate they are approaching the end of their working life and not holding a charge or about to fail. This enables them to be replaced in advance of a critical failure.
It is also a good way of testing the UPS and generator component parts under load conditions but without risking the supply to protected loads. The worst time to find out that your UPS or generator isn’t performing as originally designed is during a mains failure as this is when the lights go out and essential loads will not be protected.
Here at The Power Manager UPS Ltd we offer Load Bank testing tailored to meet your individual needs.
